EGO and Virgo at Athens Science Festival 2024

Once again EGO and Virgo are taking part in Athens Science Festival! From April 16th to April 21st hundreds of children, students and people of all ages will discover Virgo and the science of gravitational waves through many interactive activities organized by Ellinogermaniki Agogi.

EGO contributed to the setup of a room dedicated to gravitational waves, with an art&science installation developed by the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN) and a model interferometer. The visitors can also find many stations where they can experiment with GWitchHunters, the Reinforce citizen science demonstrator to help scientists classify glitches in Virgo data.
