Teacher’s Program

Virgo is actively organizing and participating in education and outreach activities which include: a rich programme for the production of educational resources, the offering of continuous professional development for teachers at national and international level as well as the organization of learning activities aiming to bring Gravitational Wave Astronomy to the classroom for students in Europe.

To this end, researchers from EGO-Virgo have been actively collaborating with educational and research institutions from Europe in the framework of EU funded projects, such as the EU funded project FRONTIERS. FRONTIERS offers to teachers a wealth of educational resources introducing concepts from Astrophysics and Gravitational Wave Astronomy to Particle and Astroparticle Physics, training by world leading experts in frontier Physics and in Science Education and continuous and personalized support for introducing frontier Physics in their classroom, including the organization of classroom tailored virtual visits to Virgo.
